Fleet payment: how do you combine broader reach with tighter control?

A payment card that works in more places opens doors. But for a business fleet proposition, reach alone isn’t enough. The real challenge isn’t choosing between reach and control. It’s getting both right.
Open-loop reach, closed-loop control
Take a fuel company that wants to offer EV charging to its business customers. Or a leasing company that needs to configure different services and spending rules for different clients. In each case, a new payment option on its own won’t do. The offering has to fit the customer, and stay manageable for the partner.
XXImo combines Visa-based payment reach with service-level control over what gets spent, where. The card runs on an existing payment network, but doesn’t accept every transaction by default. The partner decides which services are allowed, and what rules apply.
That’s how open-loop reach meets closed-loop control, in one setup.
It’s fully configurable too. For one business customer, the proposition might cover fueling and EV charging. For another, add parking and carwash. Within each setup, limits can be set at customer, user and service level. Not every client needs the same services or the same spending room.
More than a card: the full payment stack
Offering a proposition like this takes more than issuing a card. Cards and users need to be managed, transactions processed, payments settled. Data has to be available for billing and reporting.
XXImo brings those functions together in a complete fleet payment stack: issuing, processing, settlement, spend controls, data and operational tooling. APIs embed payment features inside existing apps and portals. The Partner Portal adds a layer for managing customers, users, cards and transactions.
The result is broader reach, with the structure to actually run on it.
Extend without replacing what works
Nothing needs to be rebuilt from scratch. XXImo is modular and plugs into existing customer environments and fleet processes. The partner chooses which parts fit, and how they slot into the current offering.
The same logic applies to charging. Expanding payment options doesn’t mean replacing what already works. Where it’s relevant, RFID and EMV can live on the same card. Existing roaming relationships can stay in place where contract pricing, coverage and volumes make sense. Open-loop simply fills the gaps.
Your brand, your customer, your pricing
XXImo is the fleet payment engine behind partner propositions. The partner owns the brand, the customer relationship, the pricing and the experience. XXImo delivers the payment infrastructure behind the scenes.
More reach doesn’t mean handing commercial control to someone else.
That’s a different way to look at fleet payment: not just how many payments a card can make, but how those payments contribute to a proposition you own.
